Is A Relationship In Your Life Causing Pain And Disconnection?

  • Do you struggle with recurring conflicts, unhealthy patterns, or communication challenges in your relationships?

  • Have you recently gone through a breakup, separation, or period of questioning your partnership?

  • Do you find it difficult to connect with people whose goals, values, and communication styles align with yours?

Many people spend years searching for the ideal partner—and it’s understandable. Healthy, fulfilling relationships are a major source of love and support, and everyone deserves them. Yet finding compatible partners can feel overwhelming in today’s world, with online dating, changing social norms, and complex relationship dynamics.

Relationship struggles can leave you frustrated, anxious, or disconnected, and affect other areas of life, including work, friendships, and family. Therapy for relationship issues can help you understand patterns, improve communication, and build stronger, more meaningful connections.

Whether you find yourself repeatedly in unhealthy relationships, struggling to meet a compatible partner, or hoping to strengthen your connections, relationship therapy offers a safe space to understand your relational needs. Through therapy, you can develop skills to improve communication, build stronger relationships, and create healthier, more fulfilling connections.

If Your Relationship Feels Out Of Balance, You Aren’t Alone

If your relationships feel stressful, distant, or confusing, it’s natural to feel unsteady. Differences, past experiences, and outside pressures—like finances, work, or technology—can make finding a solid connection harder than you’d expect.

In therapy, you have space to explore the patterns shaping your relationship, gain clarity about your needs, and practice new ways of relating. With guidance, you can strengthen your voice, build healthier attachments, and create a partnership that feels more balanced, secure, and deeply fulfilling—starting with the changes you make for yourself.

Individual Therapy Through My Practice Focuses On Relationships And Relational Health

Relationship counseling is designed to support clients who are single, dating, or experiencing tension in their romantic, platonic, or familial relationships. While this process is individualized to each client’s unique needs, our work together often involves exploring relationship history, navigating conflict, setting boundaries, managing rejection, and building trust.

This form of therapy is for individuals only. Visit my Family and Couples Therapy page for more information about therapy that would include your partner and/or other family member(s).

My Approach

As a Solution-Focused therapist, I help clients set achievable goals and harness their strengths in the context of their relationships. Drawing from relationally oriented approaches like The Gottman Method, my goal is to foster healthy communication and repair on the path to attunement. I also incorporate mindfulness skills and other cognitive restructuring techniques when appropriate to help clients reduce feelings of dysregulation and overwhelm.

This process is entirely collaborative, practical, and structured to enhance all of your relationships—not just the romantic ones. Depending on what you’re seeking out in therapy, we will work on adjusting conflict styles, relational roles and expectations, dating habits, and strengthening your networks.

All relationships require focused attention and maintenance, and therapy is an effective way not only to enhance your dating toolkit but also enhance your wellbeing. As you embark on the process of exploring what you want out of your relationships—and what’s holding you back from the connections you want—you can learn how to foster bonds that are intimate, joyful, and secure.

Common Concerns About Relationship Therapy For Individuals…

Relationship counseling won’t work for me.

While everyone’s journey is different, I want to assure you that therapy is collaborative; I know it only works if you feel seen, heard, and invested in the process.

As a Solution-Focused therapist specializing in relationships, I will guide the counseling experience in a way that honors your unique goals. And I’ll check in with you regularly to make sure our work feels relevant and productive.

A therapist will judge what I bring to the counseling space.

Ideally, relationship therapy is an entirely nonjudgmental experience. I am professionally trained to understand your perspective and support your growth, all while remaining balanced and fair in my approach.

It takes courage to seek out support, and as a therapist, I know that you are here to improve your dating prospects and relationships—not make them weaker. Let’s collaborate in counseling to identify solutions that will feel most supportive to you.

Talking about my relationship struggles with a therapist will just make me feel worse.

I understand that it can feel vulnerable to discuss relationship dissatisfaction and/or conflict with a therapist. But in my experience, discussing these struggles is usually the first step in finding relief. With focused, individualized support, you can gain the tools needed to navigate challenges with confidence and an eye toward the future.
